Sheffield Wednesday On This Day revisits all the most magical and memorable moments from the club's rollercoaster past, mixing in a maelstrom of quirky anecdotes and legendary characters to produce an irresistibly dippable Owls diary - with an entry for every day of the year. From the club's formation in 1867 to the Premier League era, the Hillsborough faithful have witnessed League and Cup triumphs, promotions and relegations, hard times and hard-fought local derbies - all featured here. Timeless greats such as Benito Carbone, Peter Swan and Derek Dooley, Terry Curran, Roland Nilsson and Mark Smith all loom larger than life. Revisit 3rd May 1930, when the Owls beat Man City 5-1, winning the League title with record points and goals scored. 13th August 1961: the club's first ever pre-season friendly, a 2-1 win against Ajax. Or 21st April 1991: underdog victory at Wembley in the League Cup against Man U.

Jason Dickinson was first taken to Hillsborough by his father, Ken, in the late 1970s the famous Boxing Day game against Sheffield United being an early memory. He bought his first season ticket for the Kop in 1986 and has renewed every year since. He first became interested in the club's history through a burgeoning collection of Wednesday football programmes and trips to the Sheffield Central Library became a weekly routine for many years. Jason started to write for the Owls programme in 1994 and five years later penned his first book on the club: 100 Years at Hillsborough. A second title was published in 2005, in collaboration with John Brodie, The Wednesday Boys A Who's Who of Sheffield Wednesday 1880-2005.
